Old Crimea

A bit aside from the sea in 16 miles from Feodosia situated resort town Old Crimea. Combination mountain-wood, prairie and sea air, low humidity, not hot summer make Old Crimea favorable place for treatment patients with illness of breathing organs.

As other cities of the peninsula, Old Crimea is situated on the land with rich historical past. Its background is not one thousand years: settlement of the epoch bronze and burial hill of the same period, then settlement of Scythians and later - ancient. It is known that in VI-VII centuries leads the active trade and from the beginning of XIV century became the center of Crimean yurt Golden Horde, big trade and handicraft town. Later town lost its role of international market and after joining Crimea to Russia became small village.

In the middle of XX century town became more popular as climate resort. Old Crimea attracts, first of all by its natural treasures: clean health air, oak, hornbeam-oak woods and beech woods, interesting karst forms of relief.

In the town spent his last years of life famous writer-romantic A.S. Green. Famous people visited Old Crimea: I.K. Ivasovskiy, M.A.Voloshin, V.V. Veresaev, and V.A. Rozhdestvenskiy.
